Surrounded by high elevation mountains topped with páramo habitats, and birth place of one of the biggest Amazonian rivers in Colombia, the Putumayo river, this region is influenced by the humid and warm air rising from the amazon up to the Andes peaks creating forested slopes where a lot of species of flora and fauna exist at different elevation levels.

Highlights: The scrub forest at the Páramos are populated with a high number of Lepanthes, Telipogon and Pleurothallids, and showy species like Telipogon diabolica, Masdevallia uncifera and Cyrtochilum sodiroi can be found.
